We’re Finalists (Again!)
We’ve had so much exciting news to share with you all recently. And our good luck is continuing, as we’ve been announced as finalists for the Small Business Award, as part of The South Coast Business Awards 2023.
This year’s awards are sponsored by The Daily Echo, Lee Peck Media and LocalIQ, and will be presented to a dynamic company which demonstrates all round excellence in business. The judges will be looking for:
1. Commercial success, growth and achievement.
Since we opened the doors of SUGOI HQ, we’ve been constantly surprised by how quickly we’ve needed to grow to keep up with demand. Starting off as a team of two (plus a few members of our family who have supported us), we’re now a bustling team of five.
We’ve achieved so much more than we ever could have expected, moving from just Nissan Elgrand and Toyota Alphard conversions, to work on a range of Mazda, Volkswagen (VW) vehicles and much more. Every day is a challenge, but one we’re loving every minute of!
We’ve even recruited an in-house mechanic, who has allowed us to make fantastic use of our workshop space, and bring work in house that we outsourced at the beginning.
2. Future objectives for the growth of the business.
As a team, we’re being given so many new opportunities as we look forward to the months and years ahead. From huge campervan events sponsorship deals, to new trade partners and bringing even more of our work in house. We don’t want to give too much away, so keep an eye out for future announcements!

3. Innovation and creativity.
Well, we couldn’t talk about innovation without talking about TECH:TRUCK [Link to TECH:TRUCK website]. Striving to always improve our creativity, this project in collaboration with Fareham College did just that. A one-of-a-kind events vehicle, with a bespoke design featuring all of the latest in STEM, a drone hatch, solar panels and dynamic lighting. We’ve packed it full of amazing features to inspire the creators of tomorrow.

4. Provided evidence of positive change in the last 12 months or identified a strategy for change in the next 12 months.
Leading nicely on from that, we’ve taken every opportunity we can to help embed SUGOI in the local community, and benefit it in any way we can. TECH:TRUCK has seen a partnership with seven Hampshire colleges, the first of its kind, to deliver a shared events vehicle for recruitment and awareness.
On top of this, we’ve created jobs in Fareham, with an ever-growing team here at SUGOI HQ. We also recruited an apprentice from Fareham College, and a new T-Level Business student, who will be joining us for his work experience placement starting next week! We’ve also offered employment to a Ukrainian refugee, and have attended events here, at Beaulieu Motor Museum and more.
And there’s more in the works. But you’ll have to watch this space, as it’s not quite time to announce it yet!
